Problem: Courthouse that burned at the turn of the century, has replacement parts of metal along with the original stonework and brickwork. Since the brick was heavily damaged in the fire, it was partially replaced and patched. The building had been repainted several times with lead based paints. Neither the stonework nor the brickwork matched the full building. Constraints: The building was fully occupied during the entire project. Solution: Heavy-duty power wash all deteriorated-flaking coating and paint, off the exterior. Patch back damaged metal work. Repoint deteriorated mortar and install 2-coats of color coordinated elastomeric coating. |
