Problem:  12" diameter wood load-bearing column was subject to splitting during curing and seasonal humidity variations.
Close-up of column that had been air drying for two years.  This column had no restraint for containing splitting.  

 

 

 

 

 

Solution:  Close-up of 4 layers of one-inch wide, 20 PSI tensile strength of flexible carbon graphite wrap.  Note beginnings of column splitting that was being restrained.
